Day 12 – Just when I thought it was settling down...

18 February 2013

Just when I thought it was settling down. No such luck! I think the North East Wind got to hear about my blog from yesterday and is is presently chucking everything at me. I've had numerous poops, two knock downs and the first half of a pitch pole. Although the boat is light and thin, she is unstable to a certain angle and then sticks it in like Klitchko, so I am not worried about being rolled over, I don't think it;s going to happen. The sea is full of rage and every wave seems to be fighting the one next door..why can't they all team up and going in the same direction? The sky has been blue and grey and pink more recently, there have been at least five rain showers of which I'm fine about the rain. It's just the squals underneath that have the same mentality as the waves. So it's all rather aggresive out here and I'm feeling pretty vulnerable now that it's gone dark and I'm fed up with all the smashing against the side of the hull. Roll on new light and another day. Oh, but I'm not complaining am I? I've been surfing and travelling along at a pace Mo Farrah would find difficult to keep up with. I'm sure today is going to be my highest mileage.

I am tired, but not hurting and I feel in very good shape thanks to Prof Greg White at 76 Harley Street. He has helped me get ready for this and now it's paying off. I really can feel myself becoming more adapt to the case in hand and don't have any muscle pains and the left knee is much better. I've just got to make sure I eat and drink the right amount. On the other hand, Moose who's sitting under the Raymarine chartplotter looks very pissed off he is on another Atlantic crossing with me! ha ha.

My little secret is that I am carrying on board some very special goods. I have with me, not one, but three bottles of Bowmore's finest Whisky which will eventually end up back at Bowmore. I think they will then be given away or auctioned off. However, if I have to leave my sinking ship, the whisky is coming with me for medical purposes! I hope you are interested the Bowmore competition which is running whilst I row as maybe one of these bottles will end up in your cabinet...

Thanks for your messages, again, I see them all, but am unable to repsond from here so please, please, keep them coming. It is the the high light of my day to shut myself up in the cabing and open up any messages that have come in. Thanks for your support.
